Municipal Waste - Ink Deal With Nuclear Blast

Undisputed masters of the crossover genre, Richmond, Virginia's Municipal Waste are proud to announce their new worldwide deal with Nuclear Blast Records.

States Waste frontman Foresta: "It took a real long time to decide what we were going to do for our next record. We wanted to work with a label that were not only fans of the band and our music, but were willing to get behind any ridiculous idea that we could think of. Once we realized this, Nuclear Blast was the obvious choice. The Blast has been friends with the band long before doing a record was even a possibility. I feel like we're starting off with a clean slate and decade of experience to start back up on the right track. Expect some great things in the near future from the Waste. This is only the beginning!"

Drummer Dave Witte continues: "Nuclear Blast has shown their love for the Waste for years. And when it came time for a new deal, it was a no brainer in my eyes. NB all the way. We are thrilled to be included among a roster of great bands and hard working people that love them. I can't wait to get into that studio!"

Gerardo Martínez, long-time Municipal Waste fan and Label Manager of Nuclear Blast USA, comments on the newest members of the Nuclear Blast Family: "We've known the Waste guys for some time and when the moment was right to bring them on board, we did not hesitate one second. They are the best and most relevant band at what they do, and a pleasure to be around... not to mention they are some of the funniest and down-to-earth people we've met. The excitement level for a new Municipal Waste record is at its highest and we are ready to deliver this to the masses!"

The Waste will be entering the studio this summer to record their fifth full-length album and Nuclear Blast debut in their hell-bent quests for infectious riffs and never-ending headbanging sessions. A 2012 release is expected.

Municipal Waste - To Record New Album In March

Earache Records press release

Earache recording artists Municipal Waste are set to start work on recording their new, yet to be titled album this March at Red Planet Studios in their hometown of Richmond, VA. The album will be produced by Zeuss, who produced the band's last album, 'The Art of Partying'.

The writing process for the new record is almost complete and the band is excited about bringing new ideas to the table. Frontman Tony Foresta comments: "So far the song-writing is coming off a lot more aggressive than our previous efforts."
Drummer Dave Witte agrees: "This set of new songs are challenging and super fun to play; we turned up the aggression and speed knobs while keeping the good time intact."

'The Art of Partying' was released in 2007 to great reviews and hailed the dawn of the most intense shows that Municipal Waste have played throughout the world. Looking ahead, Tony Foresta is enthused about the direction in which the band's writing has taken them on the new album: "I think it is a definite change from our last 2 albums. Nothing super-drastic, but a positive change. The Waste is still all about having a good time. But I think we all agreed on writing something a bit more pissed off and different with this album, instead of going ahead and writing the same album all over again. But don't fear, we're not getting "artistic" or any bullshit like that. We've just been listening to a lot more Poison Idea and NWOBHM and I feel it might show a bit with this next album."

The band have announced 3 song titles which promise entirely new levels of intensity and insanity in a style that is pure Waste: "Massive Aggressive", "Shredded Offering", and "The Divine Blasphemer".

The new Municipal Waste album is expected to be released worldwide on Earache Records in late August 2009.

Municipal Waste - Classic Lineup To Reunite For One Show

Earache Records press release:

"In the "Waste 'Em All" years, Municipal Waste developed a reputation that they are still living up to today. It was due to the early, insane live performances that set the bar for what people expect to see at a Waste show. Wind swept circle pits, 69 stage dives, wacky costumes, and pizza shark boogie bongs still show up whether the band plans it or not. Maybe it was just the off stage antics, excessive drinking, or the tendency to eat all the food out of an unsuspecting victim's fridge that sent the message that was (and still is) very clear: Municipal Waste is gonna fuck you up!

Now you can't rewrite history, but you can relive it on Friday, August 15th 2008 at Alley Katz in Richmond, VA. The Waste will be reuniting the "Waste 'Em All" lineup for one show as part of the 7th annual Best Friends Day Weekend. The lineup, which includes Brandon Ferrell on drums, Andy Harris on bass, Tony Foresta on vocals, and Ryan Waste on guitar, will be playing the "Waste 'Em All" album in it's entirety along with some other classic cuts.

This show is a must see for any true fan of live music! The other acts of the night include: Paint it Black, Quadiliacha, Caustic Christ, Brutal Knights, and Religious As Fuck. The show starts at 7pm @ Alley Katz (10 Walnut Alley) and costs $10."

Municipal Waste - New Video Online

Earache Records press release:

"Chaos broke out recently when Virginian thrashers Municipal Waste paid a visit to a nuclear power plant. Needless to say, the power plant couldn't handle the sheer energy of the band and the building started to collapse, causing toxic waste to leak into the local water supply with some rather unsettling results.

There couldn't be a scarier thought, but luckily for us, this didn't actually happen. This tale of terror sets the scene for Municipal Waste's gory new music video for the track "Sadistic Magician", which comes off the band's 2007 Earache Records album, "The Art Of Partying".

Filmed at the Hyperion Sewage Treatment Plant in Playa del Ray, California, the "Sadistic Magician" video was directed by Jeff Speed of 1134 Films and produced by Carolyn Vye of The Vault LA (Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Madina Lake) and features Municipal Waste doing what they best - thrashing it up and laying waste to everything around them!

Director Jeff Speed comments on the video: "Humor, horror, metal and mayhem have always been a winning combination. It's 80's throwback to the fullest - back when videos were fun and the music was still dangerous. Municipal Waste is the perfect band for it because this is exactly who they are - no bullshit."

Check out all the carnage of the video at this location.

Municipal Waste - Video Banned From YouTube

The video for the Municipal Waste track 'Headbanger Face Rip' has been banned by You Tube. Filmed by the legendary 80s cult splatter/horror independent film company Troma Entertainment, the 'gore version' of the recording has been deemed by You Tube to have content which is inappropriate.

This banned version of the track features the legendary Troma style blood, guts and gore seen in many of their genre-defining B-movie style shock flicks, which fit well with Municipal Waste's outrageous party attitude. Fans who still want to watch this controversial version of the track can still view it online here and the TV-friendly recording can still be viewed on YouTube here.

Municipal Waste's "The Art Of Partying" is out now worldwide.
